CONGRATULATIONS

  THE MANAGEMENT, PRINCIPAL, STAFF AND STUDENTS CONGRATULATE OUR PHYSICAL DIRECTOR, MR.JOUSHWA PRABU FOR HAVING SUCCESSEFULLY UNDERGONE THE INTERNATIONAL TOUCH RUGBY LEVEL-1, COACHING COURSE FROM 21ST TO 26TH NOVEMBER 2010 ORGANISED BY ANDHRA PRADESH TOUCH RUGBY ASSOCIATION IN THE AUSPICIOUS OF TOUCH RUGBY FEDERATION OF INDIA AT ACHARYA NAGARJUNA UNIVERSITY, NAGARJUNA NAGAR.

THIS IS A UNIQUE HONUR TO 3 CANDIDATES FROM TAMILNADU FROM AMONG 33 CANDIDATES ALL OVER INDIA. OUR PHYSICAL DIRECTOR IS ONE AMONG THE 3 IN TAMILNADU. WE ALL WISH HIM THE VERY BEST OF LUCK.

Important activities for the year 2009-10

1.     A short term Orientation Program on “Teaching of engineering graphics for I st BE students of Anna university “,for the benefit of the faculty of various engineering colleges in and around kanchipuram dist, was conducted by the dept of mech engg ,SSIT-Ocheri in Aug -2009.

2.     Besides, many seminar talks by professionals from leading industries were conducted by the various technical associations of the college.

3.     The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Association of our college was inaugurated on 25-09-2010 for the Academic year 2010-11. Engineer John sundararajan, an Industrialist delivered the key note address on “Basic concepts in Electrical Engineering”.

4.     Dr.M.Narayana Rao, Principal, Developed an Interactive software on “Computer aided Teaching and Learning of Engineering Graphics”, for I st BE students. The same is available at www.sunsoftwaresolutions.co.in. It is well received by the faculty and students.

5.     Dr.M.Narayana Rao, Principal, is currently guiding six candidates leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at different Universities. Two of the six candidates are from SSIT, Ocheri.

6.     In March 2010, a seminar was conducted for the +2 students of Vellore district High Schools, to guide them for career selection and higher education. The resource persons for the seminar were leading professors from educational institutions and professionals from leading industries.

7.     In the same month an awareness program was conducted for the final year diploma students from various polytechniques from Vellore district to guide them on career choosing and higher education.

8.     We have planned to conduct a basic awareness program for the +2 students from the various schools in Vellore district on 26th Dec 2010, to guide them on career selection and higher education. The resource persons are from premiere educational institutions and professionals from leading industries.

9.     In Feb. 2010, a basic program was conducted for the teachers of higher secondary schools in Vellore district, at our computer labs to make the teachers familiar with computer languages, use of internet and web browsing.

10.  Our physical director Mr.Joshwa underwent a 10 day training program in nov 2010 at Hyderabad (AP) on coaching athletes for touch Rugby level – I game and he was certified by the Govt. agency, that he is an accredited coach for level – I touch rugby game.

11.  We have just received pleasant news that our physical director Mr.Joshwa is selected as one among the 12 players representing our country in the international touch rugby game to be conducted in the month of June at London. Out of the 3 players from Tamilnadu, our physical director is one among them. Our hearty congratulations to him and we wish him and our Indian team all success in the game to be played at London.

12.  We have plans to start a new U.G Branch “Civil Engineering” at Ist Year level from next academic year (2011-2012).

13.  We also have plans to apply to AICTE & AUT for an increase of 60 intake in Ist BE Mechanical Branch.

14.  Elaborate arrangements are being made by each Dept for the visit of our students to various leading Industries in Tamilnadu. The Mech Dept students visited Ashok Leyland Vellore in Aug-2010 and have richly benefited by the visit.

15.  Arrangements are also being made for guest Lectures by eminent Professors and Professionals from learning industries at our college for the benefits of our students and staff.

16.  Regular in plant trainings are being arranged in winter and summer vacations for the students of our college. This will help our students, further understand, the theory they learn in class room with Industrial outlook.
